I have an old Hills heritage clothesline that is starting to rust, how do I prevent future erosion?

Wear and tear can sometimes cause your clothesline to discolour. 
First, use vinegar to scrub the area of your clothesline that is rusting.

Then clean the area with water, and cover with a zinc based paint to help reduce further erosion.
